Program Overview

There are three levels of boys basketball teams at Danvers High School: varsity, junior varsity and freshman. Each team practices daily and has a full schedule of competitive games. Within the Northeast Conference, the basketball team competes against schools in the surrounding area such as Beverly, Gloucester, Lynn Classical, Lynn English, Revere and Saugus to name a few. The student body embraces the boys basketball team, and all games are well-attended events making the atmosphere in the newly renovated field house something special.

The boys basketball program at Danvers High School has established itself as a champion organization throughout the years. The program has demonstrated the consistent ability to produce winning teams and develop successful athletes. With back-to-back Division III State Championship victories in 2012 and 2013, the varsity team has become a dominating organization within the Northeast Conference and throughout the state.

New head coach John Walsh has changed the culture of the Danvers High School basketball program, raising the bar for our athletes. Walsh creates an atmosphere that stresses the importance of hard work and dedication from all of his players. He has lit a fire under the boys basketball team which has spread throughout the school and town. The team returns to the Division II level for the 2013-2014 season where it will face an exciting and competitive schedule that will challenge our boys as both individual athletes and team players.
