Rainbow Flag raised in the Town of Danvers

In 2014 President Obama called on Americans to eliminate prejudice “everywhere it exists,” and declared June as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride month.
June month was selected in honor of the June 1969 riots that took place at Stonewall Inn, which is now widely recognized as the catalyst for the LGBT movement for civil rights in the United States.
The Town of Danvers had a flag raising ceremony in observance of this and during the month of June the rainbow flags will be flown at both Town Hall and the Library.

Pictured below were 3 representative from Danvers High School who attended the short ceremony!
