“We are all part of the Puzzle”

A place-Based Service Learning Lesson

Tim Kelly’s “The Puzzle Art Installation & Collaborative Project” inspired this art project.
(Go to www.puzzleartproject.com for more information.)
The Puzzle Project consists of thousands of 24″ x 24″ artistic puzzle pieces created in more than 20 states and 10 countries.

The individual puzzle pieces (pictured below) were created by Ms. Calnek’s first semester Studio Art classes and combined to make a mural 5’ x 24’ illustrating the students experience at Danvers High School as a “place” of meaning and influence in their lives. School-wide reflection on Danvers High School as the “place” was broadened to include all students, faculty and staff who have roots in Danvers and have attended the high school.

If you are alumni of Danvers High School we invite you to participate in communicating your remembrance of being a student here.
Please write:

  • a few sentences to a short paragraph about your experience at Danvers High School
  • Your first and last name
  • Your year of graduation

Email your responses to:  charlottecalnek@danvers.org

Ms. Calnek plans on sending the puzzle pieces created by our very own Danvers High School students to Tim Kelly
for him to add to the travelling exhibition.
Our puzzle pieces will be a part of this global installation.

The mural is currently on view on the second floor Guidance wing hallway of Danvers High School
