Varsity Field Hockey 2021
Program Overview
The field hockey program at Danvers High School is historically among the top programs in the Northeastern Conference and state. We support teams at the varsity, junior varsity and middle school levels. Whether students have years of field hockey experience or are trying the sport for the very first time, Danvers High School encourages participation at all levels.
As a part of the Northeastern Conference, our field hockey program competes against local high schools such as Gloucester, Marblehead, Saugus and Swampscott, with the most anticipated matchup being against rival Beverly High School. Our teams practice on Burley Field or Morse Field six days a week, with games occurring weekly. Under the direction of head coach Kristen McCarthy, our varsity team is often a top contender for the title of Northeastern Conference Champions, and consistently qualifies for the MIAA state tournament. With many years of field hockey experience at both the scholastic and collegiate levels, Coach McCarthy holds our student-athletes to the highest standards, and pushes them to work together while improving their skills.
