Danvers High School proudly supports a co-ed swimming and diving program at the varsity and junior varsity levels. The boys and girls teams at both levels practice together five to six days a week with meets occurring weekly. The team hosts its meets at the Danvers YMCA, which boasts a five-lane, 25-yard facility with starting blocks and a diving board.
An experienced coaching staff develops the athletic abilities of our athletes with a focus on technique and conditioning. Our swimmers learn proper stroke mechanics, starts and turns and practice these skills through race-pace training. Similarly, our diving coaches emphasize proper fundamentals in service of excellent performance to both our elite and novice divers. For many years, Danvers has ranked among the very best in our division. As a part of the Northeastern Conference, we compete against local rivals such as Beverly, Marblehead, Peabody and Swampscott. Many of our swimmers and divers from both the girls and boys teams often qualify for the NEC meet hosted each year at Salem State University.
Our program highlights sportsmanship and teamwork as key features in creating a positive and successful team dynamic. Regardless of the event, our athletes encourage one another and create an exciting and spirited atmosphere during meets. The energy is electric, and often times the pool is packed with fans on race day. The Danvers High School swimming and diving program strives to develop the skills of our young athletes, and we look forward to the future successes of all our teams.
