  • DANVERS BABE RUTH Baseball League: Baseball season will be back before you know it and the Danvers Babe Ruth Baseball League will be looking for volunteers who are interested in pursuing a career in broadcasting, that would like to provide play by play coverage for the Danvers High School home Twi Field baseball games.   • DANVERS NATIONAL LITTLE LEAGUE: Will be looking for volunteers to assist during their season and Summer Baseball Tournaments at Tapley Park in Danvers, Ma.  They are in need of volunteers to work the snack-bar and for set-up and clean-up.

  • FRIENDS OF SPECIAL OLYMPICS TRACK TEAM:  The mission of the Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, prepare for entry into school and community programs, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendships with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.  They are in need of volunteers each Saturday from April TBD, 2019 to June TBD, 2019,  at the Danvers High School Field House or Stadium. Volunteers are needed from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon.   • NORTH SHORE ROVERS Special Needs Youth Soccer Program:  This  youth soccer program is open to all Special Needs Athletes ages 3-21! Volunteers are partnered with a player for the season or assigned to a designated group.  The program runs from September -November, except Columbus Day weekend, on Sunday mornings from  8:45 a.m.-10:00 a.m., and from 9:45 a.m.-11:00 a.m., at the McGrath Field, 64 Marlborough Street, Salem, Ma.  Volunteers can choose to participate in one or both time-frames, and must be 14 years of age or older. Some soccer experience is a plus.  No prior experience working with special needs necessary. YOU MUST BE COMMITTED TO THE ENTIRE SEASON TO PARTICIPATE, because the program is built on the special relationships that are created between the players and the volunteers.   All coaches and volunteers are CORI checked.   • TOM GOULD’S Challenger Basketball Program:  Volunteers are needed to play basketball, kickball and other activities and games with children ages 5+ with physical and mental challenges.  The program will take place every Monday, from 6:30-7:30 p.m., beginning in November and it will run through to the end of March,  at the Carroll School, 60 Northend Street, in Peabody, Ma.  To volunteer contact Tom Gould at (978) 531-7374. These include Let’s Play Sports, Little Lizards, Falcon’s Summer Fun, Journey’s, SNAKE Camp, SNAKE Travels, Junior Rangers at Endicott Park, the Park Program, Summer Adventures, Tennis, Hot Shots Basketball Clinics, Hoopsters Basketball Clinics, the Summer Band Program/Music Academy, the Stand Up and Paddle Program, the Mind Blowing Science Program, Lego Workshops, Shooting Stars Basketball Clinic, Soccer Camp, Minecraft Gaming Adventure, Youth Volleyball, Adventures in Space, and the CIT Program.  For more information stop by the Danvers Recreation Department located at the Danvers Town Hall, or call 978-777-0001, Ext 3094.   • DANVERS KIWANIS Annual Pancake Festival and Fundraiser!  The Danvers Kiwanis Club will hold it’s 49th Annual Pancake Festival and Fundraiser on Saturday,  March TBD, 2019, at the Danvers High School cafeteria, from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon!   Volunteers are needed to assist with set up, ticket sales, food distribution and clean up.  Students are also needed the Friday night prior to the event, for set-up and food prep.   • FALL FESTIVAL Shopping Benefit for the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families: Sugar Me Sweet Natural Skin Care is proud to present this “Fun” Raiser  to support the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families. This event is being held on Saturday, October TBD, 2018, 11:00-3:00 p.m.  at the Salem Moose Family Center located at 50 Grove Street, Salem, Ma.  There will be local vendors, crafters and service providers, and a 50/50 raffle. Volunteers are needed from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for set-up, assisting vendors, selling raffle tickets, assisting with carnival game tables, and clean-up.
