Welcome to Danvers High School!

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Danvers High School for the 2018-2019 school year! As our core values indicate, we are “a community of independent learners dedicated to respect, responsibility, creativity, and the pursuit of academic excellence.” Our teachers are exemplars of our core values through the creativity, energy and enthusiasm they bring to the classroom each and every day. We look forward to continuing to support teachers in providing opportunities for each and every student to grow academically, socially and emotionally.

We have the luxury of a simply amazing 21st century facility and recently completed Deering Stadium and J. Ellison Morse Athletic Complex. We are looking forward to building upon last year’s work with the 1:1 Chromebook initiative to continue to leverage the technology that every student has to best meet their learning style. Our New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) site visit and accompanying report, which was completed during the 2016-2017 school year, showed the many positive characteristics and attributes of the DHS community.

Danvers offers a myriad of course offerings, athletics, clubs and other extracurricular activities so that every student can engage in areas of interest to them. 9th grade students are assigned to a team of teachers to support their transition to high school. During May of their senior year, students complete an internship to get valuable real-world and relevant experience in a career or field of study they are interested in.

We will continue the tradition of communicating via a weekly “DHS Update” that is sent out every Friday afternoon by email and also posted on our website. Please utilize the weekly updates, this website and the Danvers Public Schools mobile app to stay up to date on all things Falcons! The mobile app is compatible with both Apple and Android devices, and is available for download from the Apple Store and Google Play.

Danvers High School is fortunate to have the support of the community and town. We look forward to continuing our collaborative relationships with the Department of Public Works, town hall, the police and fire departments. We will continue to work with leadership teams from public schools across Danvers, with the support of our district office.

Welcome to Danvers High School. We are thrilled to have the privilege of supporting our students and families in realizing their hopes and dreams.

Go Falcons!
