The following concerns Danvers Public Schools’ Tylenol policy:
Danvers Public Schools has recently adopted a new policy regarding the administration of Tylenol/*Acetaminophen during the school day.
If you would like your child to be able to receive this medication (for fever or mild pain), during the school year, please download and print a Parent Authorization Form for TYLENOL, complete it, and return it to your school nurse. Parents must complete and return the Authorization Form to the school nurse before Tylenol may be administered.
Please note that no medication will be administered unless the appropriate, signed paperwork is completed and on file. As part of this protocol, Tylenol/*Acetaminophen will not be administered until a parent/guardian has been contacted. This will apply to each/every dose.
It is, therefore, imperative that the school has all up-to-date contact numbers. As with all medications, Tylenol/*Acetaminophen may only be administered by the school nurse, and WILL NOT be sent on field trips.
Please be aware that this protocol applies to Tylenol/*Acetaminophen only. For your convenience, this medication will be provided by each school in accordance with the protocol. Please feel free to contact your school nurse with any questions or concerns.
*Acetaminophen is the generic name for Tylenol
