Integrated Preschool
The Danvers Preschool Program is designed to aid in the growth and development of 3-5 year old children. The intent of the program is to provide a secure and enriching environment to foster each child’s learning potential. The program provides active exploration through a variety of stimulating experiences in the areas of language, cognition, social-emotional, play and physical development.
The program is an integrated model in which children with special needs are taught in conjunction with children who are typically developing.
Each classroom is staffed by an early childhood special education teacher and an assistant. Services for speech therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy are provided directly or on a consulting basis, as needed.
Intensive Preschool
The intensive preschool is for students with needs best served in a longer day. The classroom is comprised of a special education teacher, assistants and a behavior specialist. These students benefit from a direct teaching method and integration in an inclusive preschool classroom when appropriate.
